Fothergilla gardenii

Fothergilla gardenii belongs to the family of the Hamamelidaceae and is one of two main types of the genre Fothergilla. This deciduous shrub plant comes from the southeastern United States, especially from the damp, swampy areas of Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas. It is particularly well known for its striking flowers and its bright autumn color, which is why it is also a popular ornamental plant in gardens and parks.

Morphology

Fothergilla gardenii is a compact, slowly growing shrub, which usually reaches a height of around 60 to 120 cm.
